Big Quill Resources Inc. is Canada’s largest manufacturer of potassium sulfate (sulfate of potash). The Big Quill Resources plant is located on the south shore of Big Quill Lake near Wynyard, Saskatchewan. We are a closely-held private corporation manufacturing potassium sulfate through two different operations namely, ion exchange (IX) and glaserite process.

• The IX product is manufactured using the natural source of salt (sodium sulfate) from Big Quill Lake and crystalline potash through an ion exchange process. This product stands among the highest-purity potassium sulfate products (with low heavy metals) in the world.
• The glaserite product (glaserite is the intermediate compound in this process and hence, the name) is manufactured through a chemical reaction of anhydrous sodium sulfate and crystalline potash and slightly less pure than the IX product.

OVERVIEW

Our guarantee presently stands at 53.0% K₂O (18.0% sulfur) for the regular IX product and 50.0% K₂O (17.0% sulfur) for the regular glaserite product as we strive to improve our quality on a consistent basis. Typically, the regular IX product is 99.75% potassium sulfate and the regular glaserite product is 97.00% potassium sulfate. The composition of most heavy metals in our products is less than third-party laboratory detection limits. 

In addition to the above, we supply specialty products including those that meet food-grade quality i.e., Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) specifications. We export to four continents and take pride in prompt delivery while meeting specifications. We provide a Certificate of Analysis, if required, to underscore our guarantee on purity.
