Big Quill’s potassium sulfate (SOP) products are well-suited to cleaning, restoration, and/or reconditioning of sensitive substrates (surfaces) such as glass, plastic, and wood, where scratching/indentation is undesirable. Our SOP products are one of the best soft media products available and they provide the fine grains needed to clean surfaces without leaving an indelible mark. A few properties of our soft media are listed below:

Water-soluble specialty compound
Does not leave a profile on the surface unlike other hard media
Has a neutral pH (~ 7.0) eliminating the need for a second rinse to neutralize the surface, which becomes essential with higher pH media
Eco-friendly soft media that can be washed away with no harmful environmental impact; our SOP products are used as fertilizer underlining their value to soil fertility
High melting point enables media to be used at elevated temperatures if needed
Non-toxic and non-hazardous product with most heavy metal concentrations below certified third-party laboratory detection limits
Will not produce sparks upon impact with the substrate, thereby providing a safer workplace
Low dust (typically, 99.0% is retained on the US Standard 200 mesh, i.e., 75 micron opening) makes handling easier and eliminates visibility and respiratory issues
